Money?

Had my phone interview yesterday regarding a 2012 over-payment. EDD scheduled me for an interview on the 29th but never called, so I called them yesterday and I spoke to the lady conducting my interview and since I couldn’t remember the exact day I worked, she said she was gonna call the company and verify the date because they need exact dates and not estimated dates. @ the time I was on a 15-week penalty for a previous over-payment, she said I should be fine and there shouldn’t be a penalty since I wasn’t receiving any $$ @ the time and after dates are cleared, how long should it take for me to get paid? On sunday I gotta webcert for my 3rd time since 2 webcerts I haven’t received anything. Its been almost 6 weks without any money. No bueno. Anyone knows ? Thank you

I am so furious with EDD. My daughter, who was going to school and working part-time and then laid off, has had her benefits cut off. She was told it’s because “she’s not available for work because of her school schedule”. EDD, she was working part-time before and is still looking for a job. She will complete school in just a few weeks. She filed an appeal and understood that she would be paid while the appeal was being processed, but she has not received a penny since Sept. 3. I’m beside myself with worry that she will be evicted and won’t be able to finish school. I live several hours away from her and I’ve given her all the money I have to help her get by. How can EDD be so heartless?? This is people’s lives they’re messing up!!!

I am so confused right now. I recently missed my first REA appointment due to a change in address. I filled out the form and webcert as expected said “submitted” on all claims after the missed appointment, my benefits were suspended.
I then recieved a letter stating I had an phone interview. I get the phone call, the lady [who spoke broken English] asked for my basic info and then for my new address and asked very nonchalantly if I get my form about the appointment. I told her yes, but not until the appointment had passed due to the mail being forwarded to my new address.

She said ok and then literally THAT WAS IT. She then calls a few hours later to tell me I need to call to make a new REA appointment. Alright, so I call, and they tell me the system won’t allow them to make new appointments in the system until next Monday. I get it, they are short staffed.

Here is where I am confused, so I haven’t made the appointment yet, but today I check webcert and my form says “issued”. I call the bank and sure enough, I was paid.

I don’t know what is going on but has anyone else ever had this happen?

It’s been almost 2 months since I got my award letter, and still no debit card. Just got a phone call from EDD saying that since I’m going to school, I need a phone interview to determine eligibility. How long will this take? I’m going to school at night so it doesn’t affect my ability to work.

Keep calling!!

I think that the message is finally getting out that if you don’t call EDD REPEATEDLY, your claim will not get fixed on its own!
Not meaning to suggest that everyone isn’t trying to call, just that be prepared to be lied to and told different reasons why your claim is held up. Be prepared to be told you will be paid in 24-48 hours. If you are told this and payment is not received, call again!
I had a list of the different office numbers provided on this site. Some were shut down, (because they are numbers that aren’t meant to be for the public)others will answer and then transfer you and some will just plain hang up on you. Keep trying or you may never get paid!
I waited 2 months and was hopeless and so close to just giving up. Out of sheer desperation I kept calling and finally reached someone that cleared it up.
I’ve read here that some have had success with getting help on ‘Ask Edd’ which is great (personally I never even got a reply that way). It can’t hurt trying every avenue to reach them but above all, don’t stop calling them! It’s your money and they are going to make you fight for it..
I will also suggest to those that reach a live human to not bother with telling them how screwed you are with bills, rent etc. Stick to just the facts of your claim and be as polite as you can under these circumstances..
I have been paid all that was due to me and only come on here now to help by telling everyone the only thing that worked for me.

I webcert my weekly claim on 10/27 but says submitted 10/28. I called and they said their system doesn’t show it’s been submitted, but on my end it does show it’s been submitted, the best advice he gave me is to mail the actual paper form cause their system is updating and may have glitches.. Hope this helps
