February 2017

I have been employed for 2 years at this point at the same job! Thank god! I recently got a letter from EDD. I froze when I saw it – what on earth can they want! I open it up and they say I was overpaid a full week 2 years ago. It was the first week of my last job. The story is I was confused filling out my first 2 weeks of the claim. For my frist week of work I put down I made 0 cause at the end of your frist week you make 0 you don’t get paid till the following week. This is incorrect. Since was 2 years ago I racked my brain and said well I must have made a mistake so I look at the date of me having to send it all back in and I literally have 2 days till the make a decision? I Send the full amount in and get a letter back saying since I didn’t explain myself I owe the full money (which I already sent in and they cashed) plus a 150.00 penalty plus a suspension for 5 weeks if I ever get back on EDD! Let me remind you this was my first mistake at EDD and I said sorry paid the amount and now they’re doing this! I asked for an appeal on the 150.00 penalty and the 5 week one. It’s robbery! I can’t even get them on the phone. Anyone else experience this? I guess I’ll go in person and fight it. So frustrating!

So I went out on disability and submitted a claim over a month ago. I had my Dr fill out and then we submitted the proper paperwork. Now when I go to the EDD website my account doesn’t show any claims and if I try to talk with someone all I ever get is we have to many people in the waiting list try back later. What the hell is going on with the EDD and this crappy site. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the point to try and actually talk with someone then they disconnect you! Getting pissed off and needing to get paid for the weeks of work I was out. They need to revamp not only the website but the whole system which just sucks.

I got my first form to cert for two weeks which I did today around 10am. I got paid for only one week. Anyone know why?

I certed for two weeks pay this morning (first cert on my UI claim) but only got partial payment tonight. Any one know why?

So i got fired on the 28th,got an award letter then received a letter for phone interview on the 15th. Haven’t heard anything back yet but i got paid for the second week. A couple days ago it notified me to reopen my claim. I didn’t want to because i didn’t want to mess anything up. Well i reopened my claim yesterday, now is telling me to reopen my claim again. I have no idea what’s going on, i can only assume my claim was approved because i got paid for the week that wasn’t my waiting period. Any advice?

Why does this website show that “tiffaney acosta” responded to 14 posts under “Recent Comments” on the left, but none of these responses are showing?

I was unemployed for about 4 months from November-February due to lack of work at my regular job and filed a claim with EDD. I took a small part-time job for 3-4 weeks and stupidly didn’t report them with EDD because I misunderstood the question if I had worked (I took it as a question of if I had worked for the company I was claiming benefits for) It’s a little over a month later and I received a letter of determination for failing to update my resume (There was nothing to update from my previous claim, I had filed the previous year for 2 months for the same job). My benefits for the first two weeks of February were suspended and the last weeks I haven’t certified for because I started back at work on February 21st and do not need benefits. The phone interview is tomorrow and was looking for any tips and how I should bring up that I was overpaid if they would just not pay the few weeks they had suspended due to my resume not being updated.
