Benefits exhausted/still no job.. when can I refile?

in ¿Confused?

My benefits ran out about a month ago after a year and a half of benefits and I tried to file a new claim online and got an insurance award letter of $0. Is there a waiting period before I am able to file a new claim? What if I still don’t have or can’t find a job, will I not qualify?

Unfortunately, I don’t think you can. You have to have worked in the six quarter base period to fund your claim. If you have not worked, then you have no funding.

I’m almost there myself and it’s terrifying. Register with as many staffing agencies you can, join networking groups, be super aggressive in finding work. Take anything that will pay your rent and continue to look for the right opportunity. Try to stay positive. I know it’s hard but unfortunately, being negative doesn’t do anything to get people to want to hire you.

If you’re completely broke, apply for foodstamps and welfare if you have to. Screw the judgmental ignoramuses like that douche Rush who pollutes this forum with his rightwing bile. People cannot understand the unemployment situation unless they are unemployed.

    Good luck.

When you came into this country illegal how long did it take for you to learn English? Do you still do yard work for a living?
