Employer no response – what now?

My last employer will not respond to the EDD. I had my phone interview yesterday. I was laid off for “lack of work.” My friend still works there and told me our boss has not responded to the EDD for the 2 of us he laid off, just completely informing their paperwork and phone calls. What does this mean for me? Will my claim get approved or do I have to wait until he responds?

  • I’m only guessing but I think you will get EDD. I would email EDD and ask them. I’m not sure if there’s a time frame the employer has to respond. Are you sure the boss has been in the office?

I think the employer has 10 days or so to dispute the employee’s claim…If they don’t respond, the employee wins by default. Unless you have told them some other reason to deny you. Hang in there – time is on your side…
