Quick summary of my situation:
Laid off Feb 15th, applied online on Feb 16th. Waited the stated 10 days (I waited 10 business days) and got no mail and heard nothing. Called and found out I was flagged for ID verification and that I should have received a letter about this, which I did not. They said they sent it right after I applied.
So, they re-sent the letter and I sent them copies of what they wanted, they received my stuff on March 11th. I have contacted their Identity Dept a few times since then and found out there’s a 10 day waiting period before they would look at my identity paperwork, meaning the earliest they would possibly process it would be Monday, March 25th. I was crushed to find this out, as it had already been a month since I applied online and it was not my fault that I didn’t receive the first letter, which of course delayed me getting them the docs they wanted to verify my ID.
I am just wondering if anyone else has had to go through this process and how long it took them from the time they sent their ID paperwork until they got their EDD money.
Side rant: I find it very strange I was flagged, I had a claim last year that I used for only a few months, then I got a job, but then was laid off (company is now closing). I haven’t moved so they have sent me letters with my correct name and info to my correct address, I even still have the B of A card they gave me. Seems rather silly and a waste of time and resources to flag me, as I am obviously who I say I am.
