in Pissed!

So i applied for unemployemnt about 7 weeks ago and Im still waiting on my first check, im wondering how long it usually takes? I tried going online to see if there was any info on the status and of course I type my password in wrong and get locked out. How long does this lock out take? Of course its after noon so I cant contact anyone at the office. I was told almost two weeks ago they would be sending me a check soon so Ive been driving 10 miles to my PO Box burning up gas everyday that frankly I dont have the money for. If anyone can help with some of these questions it would be much appreciated

Did you get confirmation from EDD that they even received your application? You should have received either a Bank of America debit card or a letter saying you denied or a letter stating you need to have a phone interview. 7 weeks is too long to not receive anything! Since you are locked out of your account, you can either try to call or send them an email. I sent an email and they unlocked mine. It was about 2 days later.

Yes I had a phone interview about 5 weeks ago, and another one 2 weeks ago. Still havent heard anything about a card, the lady on the phone said they would send a check. Either way this was meant to get me through the 3 months I’ve been out of work and it just seems ridiculous that almost 2 months in I still havent recieved anything.

Since your last interview, you should have heard something within 10 business days. And they don’t do checks….they send a debit card and put money on it, unless you have some kind of special case. I’m assuming you have been filling out your claim forms too? You should have been completing them the whole 7 weeks…if you haven’t, that will be a problem. You def should have received your bank card or a denial letter by now. I had a phone interview and received my card 2 days later. Doesn’t mean that is the norm, every case is different.I would call them first thing in morning…that is not always easy but just keep calling until you get someone! In the meantime, you can go on the website and send them an email. Do that in case you don’t get thru to someone! They will respond to your email in 1-2 days. Make sure you notify them that your account is locked. Same happened to me and they unlocked it for me! Good luck! Keep us posted!

In the morning, call them asap at 8 am. If they say they are too busy , hang up and call – repeat until you get a hold of someone. You will have to do this for about 20 minutes before you get thru. If you don’t have a computer, the library will have one you can use for free. Or use your phone to get internet acess. It will be much quicker. It’s not that hard to login.

do you have the phone number? Every number ive tried has been a robot with no option for talking with a representative.

the only number i have is 800-300-5616. You have to go thru their prompts- like I said you have to try multiple time(s). They are only open until 12. Just follow the prompt and try several times. good luck. in order to email them, you have to do it online on their webside.

Yes I followed the prompts but was never given one for talking to a rep. Idk I guess I’ll just be broke.
