I have mine today and really hope it goes as smooth as yours went. I have been stressed over this for the past two weeks. Having somebody else judge my efforts to continue or deny my benefits is a scary thing. Did you dress likeca job interview?

    Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the info.  I have one scheduled for next Tuesday morning.  Already watched video and did skills assessment print out.  From what others have posted, their experience has been in a group setting for the REA appointments.  Sounds like they are trying to process as many people as possible at a time.  It all sounds pretty simple and straight forward.

I had my REA this afternoon and it lasted about an hour. There were 25 people in our group and then those who had watched the video and printed the certficate were taken to another room. There they reviewed the video and answered any questions, reviewed the questionnaire/job search form and released us. It was much better than I expected and the host was actually very good and informative. People were dressed from t shirts and jeans to business.

      Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the updated info.  Sounds like my appointment will be relatively short, especially since I’ve already watched the video and printed the certificate and did the myskills assessment print out and have the questionnaire filled out.

What a relief! I have mine on monday in northern Ca. I’ve been way stressed but the whole process sounds so strange…I’m not quite sure why they are doing this.

The main reason I was told by our EDD instructor was to make sure people are available and able to work. Since the questionnaire is basic and the job search history is something we need to keep as well for audit purposes. I, like you, was very stressed not knowing what to expect but it was ok and believe it ir not once you get to talk with an EDD person in person they are very nice and informative. Good Luck. I’m sure everything will be ok just print all paperwork out so you don’t have to watch the video at the meeting.

Just a little add on info.  The One Stop Career Center called me today and the lady on the phone was really nice and cheerful.  She wanted to confirm that I got my letter and that was able to attend.  They were making calls to confirm that everyone in the scheduled group is attending.  Also she asked if I had watched the video and I said yes and pretend the confirmation page and did the skills assessment print out.  She said wow you will be here for only a short period of time.  She said to also bring a government form of i.d. and to have 6 contacts on my work search and I’m set to go.  She also encouraged to arrive at least 15 mins early.  I appreciated that they called and confirmed everything I needed to bring and since I have everything done before hand, that I would only be there a short amount of time.

I had my appointment today. I was out of there in 5 minutes. They took my paperwork, I signed the attendance sheet and that was it!

Just a follow up post.  I had my REA appointment this morning 9:30.  Got there just before 9:00.  Waited about 5-10 mins for rep to open door, 3 other people were waiting as well.  We did the sign-in sheet.  Gave my ID, questionnaire, video certificate print out, and skills assessment print out.  He checked everything off next to my name.  He turned to the table behind him and grabbed a booklet and gave it to me and said your free to go.  What?? Really?? This is it.  Okay, thank you and left.  The process literally took 2 mins or less.  It took me more time to get there in commute hour traffic than anything else.  So very relieved and glad the process was simple.
