So did you call BofA or EDD to find out what’s going on?
Im assuming EDD has already processed and issued your payment?

I haven’t set up transfers yet so I have to take the card into my bank and transfer the money into my account. I can’t wait up to 2 business days for transfers…it might take only one day but I’ll ‘test’ that out when rent isn’t due.

  • Shane

Edd on on the debit card, so the problem is on BofA. When I called BofA they said it could take days because I have a Chase aact and not a BofA acct. What a nightmare!!!

  • JESUS

I BEEN 20 DAYS WITH NO MONEY….I CALLED EDD THEY TOLD ME TO CALL BofA… I CALLED THEM SINCE LAST WEEK, THEY SAID THEY MAILDED MY DEBIT CARD TODAY IS SATURDAY MAIL ARRIVE NO CARD…I AM BROKE NO GAS MONEY…THIS IS BECOMING A BIG HEADACHE…I CALLED THEM TODAY THEY SAID THEY COULDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT…OK SO WHAT DO I DO KNOW WAIT TILL MONDAY..2 MORE DAYS WITH NO CASH AT ALL

  • Laura

It is taking close to 10 days to get my money transfered from debit card to my bank Wells Fargo. This is unacceptable. It seems they hold your money on the EDD account until the next amount is transferred to card so EDD keeps the money in their own account at Bank of America. So far 2-3 days to transfer is BULLSHIT!

  • Rich

Thanks for the info, I was about to have my money transferred to my chase acct. In the past I have had nothing but trouble with BofA. Years ago during a divorce and a move to California I missed my payment by a week and Bof A reduced my credit by 50%. I called them to have my due date changed and agreed to allow any extra funds or fines put against my bill. The ignorant woman that I was talking to wouldn’t make the change to help me out so I asked to talk to the supervisor. She was worse than the first. Two months later when the ranch was sold I paid off the Bankamericard and vowed to never do any kind of business with BofA again. EDD has me screwed today as they deposit to this criminal outfit and we can’t do anything about it.

  • trish sudbrink

EDD SHOULD ASK THE PEOPLE WHAT BANK THEY ARE USING WHILE DOING INTERVIEW. THEN IT WOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY DEPOSITED,SO WE CAN PAY ARE BILLS ON TIME.

  • cristie

The letter from EDD says that you recieve the Bof A card no later then 5 days from the date on the letter they send. OK. So where is it? No one knows. I’m loosing patience….how long can a person go without money?? I wish they would try it! Always problems with B of A.

  • Raul

Am I glad I read this info, I just left my bank Schools First I was told I could get my EDD deposited directly to my account, the teller gave me a sheet with all the info as to how to contact BofA for a direct deposit. I called the number spoke to a clerk who gave me the run around and told me I had to go to a local BofA branch and request the direct deposit to my band! FORGET IT, I will just get my money out from BofA as soon as I get it deposited.

  • MM-not-happy-at-all.

Wow I am glad to have come across this. It took about 3 additional days to receive the debit card. I tried to call to have it activated, I was on the phone holding for about 40 minutes finally I decided to go on line to activate the card. I just set up a transfer to my bank. But after reading the above comments, I am going to cancel right now.

  • EDD worker

I am as upset with B o A having the contract for debit card as those of you who are getting the cards. EDD workers tried to keep the check options for claimants; we were told no. We tried to get an option for direct deposit; we were told our system could not be set up for the option because it was to complicated for our old technology. We were told that the cards would only go to claimants who had just started claims or had already had cards for a disabilty claim, which would have made for an easier transition – not true. We were told you would have the cards in 3 days; we are now told that we have to tell you 10 days. If you have a problem with your card, there is nothing we can do…believe me, we want to help and it is so hard for us to tell you we can’t. We had no choice on who got the contract for the cards. As workers, we did not want B of A to have this contract because of their bad business practices. CALL YOUR STATE LEGISLATOR AND THE GOVERNER!!! TELL THEM THE PROBLEMS YOU ARE HAVING WITH THE CARDS AND DO NOT TO RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH B OF A!!! We are a state agency and if the management of EDD will not listen to you or us, they have to listen to your elected officials ss your elected officials are responsible for the oversite of EDD. I became a state worker because I care about quality publice service. I am proud of the services I provide – I do not like the limitations that have been placed on me to provide quality services to you.

After repeated attempts to even set up on-line for BofA I finally went to my bank,Wells Fargo and had the teller do a “cash advance” from the debit card ..Quick,painless and now I have cash in my own checking account..

This is a complete joke, our system is one big PONSI scam. We are trying to survive on 1,200 hundred dollars per month and yet this bank is making millions per day on our UI money… I’m a very educated person, and it truly means nothing into todays system when looking for work or making changes, so the only move is to leave the US behind and find a country that actually cares about its system and people…

It is really sad that we now have to fight for money that we all pay into. One of my business professors once stated, to make millions and a name for your self you need to LIE (B of A), CHEAT( EDD ) & take from others, ( GOVERNMENT ) … I’m tired of fighting to survive in country that makes billions on PONZI scams like EDD vs B of A, our whole system and Government has failed me and all of you without even thinking twice about it.

We are in a fight that will never end and we will never to be able to control, so good luck…

  • Debbie

Well I see this has already started to T people off.
I wonder if the state could have found a more crooked bank to deal with.
B of A is notorious for overdraft, late access to your money, etc.
They are so big noone wants to take them on. But..
B of A are crooks pure and simple.
I was aghast when I saw the bank I would be dealing with on the EDD thing. Good thing I do not need the money right away.
As crickets chirp and we all wait for our money.

  • J.H.

I cannot STAND this new system, I cannot STAND B Of A. WHERE is my MONEY Yall! Get it together I have BILLS to pay! Bank of America SUCKS BIG TIME!

  • Ludmilla

Yes, I have experienced extreme hardships with this transition which was suppose to be 1 – 3 business day from time I received the notice…then I was told this was a misprint and it was 5 – 7 business days, then 7 – 10 business days. BofA said my card went out “priority mail” on 9/9/11, then when I asked for tracking number I was told there was none. Post office stated Priority mail should only take 2 – 3 days even from Georgia to California. I did not receive my card until day 10!!!! In the meantime I had to disrupt my medications which caused me undesirable side effects, I had no food, gas and my storage rent was increased over $30 in penalty for being late! I believe that there was no need for such a delay and would not be surprised if this was one way for BofA to utilize and make profit on our moneys!

  • amok

How is THIS not covered in the news media?!

  • Mars

It’s easier to withdraw all your money at b of a ATM and deposit it in your own bank account. That way you don’t have to wait.

This is a Total Conspiracy, Us Broke Ass people on Unemployment need to Generate Some God Damned Wonder Twin Powers and Activate into Something Immediately… Wake Up America..

I go directly to a B of A branch, and have the teller give me the cash. I don’t ever use their ATMs. It’s a pain in the a$$, but I get every penny of my money. And, after being asked for my entire card number when I called customer service about a balance discrepancy when I first received my card, I don’t call B of A about anything either. Their customer service is absolutely useless! Makes me sick that the state contracted with B of A!

  • NewBe 2UI Benefits
